Seeq and AVEVA Partner to Elevate Enterprise Data Management with Analytics and AI

Seeq, a leading provider of industrial analytics, AI, and enterprise monitoring solutions, announced a strategic partnership with AVEVA, a prominent player in industrial software. The partnership focuses on the native integration of their platforms, designed to simplify access to contextualized operational data. This will enable organizations in the chemical, energy, metals, mining, and utility sectors to enhance their operational efficiency and production results.

Central to the partnership is the CONNECT industrial intelligence platform, serving as the integration hub for a connected data ecosystem. This allows Seeq users to quickly access operational data through CONNECT, reducing the time needed to gain insights and drive business value. Meanwhile, AVEVA customers can utilize the Seeq Industrial Analytics and AI Suite to scale a variety of analytical and monitoring use cases as their needs evolve. The ability to securely share data and insights with trusted partners through CONNECT data services allows organizations to gain insights beyond their internal operations, enhancing value throughout the entire value chain.

The combined capabilities in data management, industrial analytics, AI, and enterprise monitoring open up new possibilities for data-driven innovations. These include cross-plant monitoring, energy data sharing across the value chain, streamlined R&D collaboration, transparency in emissions data, and more.

“Our partnership with Seeq simplifies the process of operationalizing industrial analytics by integrating Seeq’s analytical capabilities with CONNECT’s data-sharing functionality,” said Caspar Herzberg, AVEVA's CEO. “Together, we empower the process industries to make data-driven decisions that optimize operations and unlock new opportunities.”

Dr. Lisa Graham, CEO of Seeq, added, “We are excited to co-innovate with AVEVA to advance operational excellence, profitability, and sustainability for industrial organizations. With over half of Seeq's customers already benefiting from the seamless integration of Seeq and AVEVA software, we have a proven track record of solving complex business challenges and driving digital transformation across the enterprise.”

Tiger Analytics Redefines Data Management with AI-Centric Solutions

Data and AI are intrinsically linked in the digital age, yet the crucial role of data in unleashing AI's full potential often goes underappreciated.

At Cypher 2024, India’s largest AI Conference organized by AIM Media House, Pradeep Gulipalli, Co-Founder and CEO of Tiger Analytics, India, emphasized, “AI, at its core, thrives on data.”

However, data doesn’t arrive ready for analysis; it's an unrefined and often disorganized asset that needs to be processed before it becomes truly valuable.

“This perspective is shared by many industry experts who recognize the importance of the preparatory stages in making data usable before data scientists can leverage machine learning models. Without this groundwork, even advanced AI systems would struggle to produce valuable results,” Gulipalli explained.

He highlighted the initial stages of data processing, saying, “We all understand the significance of AI models, but few acknowledge what comes before. Data ingestion, cleaning, and harmonization demand as much focus as the modeling phase itself.”

In today’s complex business landscape, data is generated at every point of a company’s operations. Gulipalli pointed out that organizations, whether manufacturing cars or providing financial services, generate massive volumes of data across their processes. From sourcing materials to processing transactions, data flows in from multiple sources in various formats.

This challenge is even greater for large enterprises with multiple functions like supply chain management, marketing, customer service, and R&D, each contributing unique data sets.

“We don’t lack data. What we often lack is a cohesive system to interpret it,” he remarked.

How to Unlock Data’s Full Potential?

For Gulipalli, the solution lies in creating “data products.” He elaborated, “In an environment where companies have access to hundreds of data sources, it’s no longer feasible to handle each data set separately. Instead, we should focus on domain-specific data products—clean, consolidated data tailored to specific business needs.”

This shift is changing how businesses approach data management. Gulipalli believes, “AI is pivotal throughout the data lifecycle, from ingestion and cleaning to harmonizing different data sources and building domain-specific models.”

AI's ability to convert unstructured data into structured formats has significantly cut down the time and effort traditionally required for data preparation. “We’ve reached a stage where AI can take over many manual tasks. It can assess data quality, detect anomalies, recommend fixes, and suggest optimal transformations—all in real-time,” said Gulipalli.

This automation accelerates the time to actionable insights, leading to improved decision-making. While a data scientist may focus on specific areas like customer segmentation, AI can uncover new patterns or insights from unexpected parts of an organization. “It’s like having an additional layer of intelligence continuously enhancing the quality and utility of data,” Gulipalli emphasized.
